Chelsea head into the FA Cup final after an unstable and frustrating spell that has defined much of their season. Changes on the managerial side have clearly disrupted the team’s rhythm, and the Blues now find themselves outside the Premier League’s Champions League places, battling simply to secure European qualification.

Manchester City, meanwhile, arrive at the final once again competing on multiple fronts and still heavily involved in the Premier League title race. Pep Guardiola’s side remain Arsenal’s closest challengers while also aiming to add another FA Cup trophy to their collection.

Recent performances from City have underlined their quality. Victories over Southampton, Arsenal, Burnley, and a dominant 4-0 win against Liverpool showcased the consistency that has defined Guardiola’s side. Their only recent stumble came in a dramatic 3-3 draw with Everton — a result that may yet prove costly in the title battle.

City have also looked particularly comfortable against fellow elite sides. Earlier this spring, they swept Chelsea aside with a convincing 3-0 victory at Stamford Bridge, controlling proceedings from beginning to end.

Erling Haaland remains the focal point of City’s attack and continues to deliver in decisive matches. Combined with the club’s depth and extensive experience in finals, Guardiola’s squad once again looks equipped to handle the pressure of another major occasion.
